NICE IS NICE
Stroll along the Promenade des Anglais where grand hotels gaze out over the sparkling Mediterranean Sea: there’s more than a touch of Poirot gentility here. Shop in designer boutiques or buy locally grown lavender and olives in bustling markets; opt for the ultimate in fine dining or eat outdoors at charming cafes where you can admire the marvelous yachts of the rich and famous sailing smoothly into harbour The fabulous Chagall Museum is not to be missed, neither are the Contemporary Art Museum in the Musee Matisse high in the hills above the city.
Nice is marvelous at any time of the year, but particularly special in July at the height of the local lavender harvest …. and you can return in time for the Provencal olive harvest in late October/early November.
