Crete

Situated in the most southerly point of Europe, Crete is endlessly fascinating with a welcome that is as warm as the azure seas which surround the island.  The largest of the Greek islands, Crete enjoys Europe’s longest Summer.  This was the birthplace of  Zeus, the ruler of the ancient Gods, and the setting for the famous tale of Theseus and the Minotaur … mythology and history aboud here and both will add magic to your stay.

DISCOVERING PAST AND PRESENT TREASURES

Resorts are varied with something to offer all tastes. Rethymnon has a combination of lovely coves and dreamy lagoons while, on the north of the island, you will find Stalis with its relaxed pace and child-friendly attractions such as its mini-golf and happy train making it perfect for families

As an upmarket alternative consider Aghios Nikolaos, a bustling town with stylish bars and a serene lake. The quiet coastal resort of Sissi combines tranquil beaches and a relaxed way of life whilst Hersonissos has entertaining waterparks as well as a huge variety of shops, bars and tavernas. Elounda boasts a large and attractive harbour, watersports, and fantastic views of Spinalonga. If it’s nightlife and beaches you’re after, you’ll find both in Malia.  The resort is divided into two distinctly contrasting parts; the old village with its traditional architecture and tavernas sitting happily next to the newer part of the town which has been developed for the young and lively with hundreds of restaurants, bars & discos.

If you want that traditional charm coupled with the relaxed Cretan way of life you will find it in beautiful Koutouloufari with its delightful ambiance and a great selection of tavernas.  A short taxi ride will take you to Hersonissos, a cosmopolitan town well known for its scores of restaurants and bars.
